Photography as a Passion
When you hold a camera in your hand, perhaps for the first time in many years. Then it is easy to realize that there are an infinite number of kinds of pictures that can be taken. Most beginners tend to start with more general photography. That you take pictures of a little bit of everything. Like a photo of a fruit bowl in the kitchen. Or maybe on trees or a lake from a walk.
Only after a period of trial and error many find the kind of photography they enjoy. Maybe you fall for street photography or taking portraits? In my case it has always been landscape, water and ice art photography that has had the greatest appeal.
Ice Art Photographer
The fact that I am now known for ice art photos is due to a trip to Iceland with a friend. In the early summer of 2017, we set off on a two-week photo expedition around the whole of Iceland. That’s where I found my niche on the east side of the island.
As there are no major players in this field, my definition of ice art photography is unique in its own right. Ice art photography is about using your imagination to find subjects and art in the ice. The motif can be a pattern or the shape of an ice block.
Unfortunately none of my photos are displayed on this website. There are a couple of reasons for this. One is to maintain the integrity around my art to keep it fresh for future exhibitions. The other reason is that, in recent years, AI art programs have a history of unathorised use of other artists work. Although I don’t mind observing fantastic artwork that AI can produce, I don’t intend to intentionally or unintentionally help others with this process.
